Samantha Armytage struggles with illness while in studio: ‘Very little to no voice’

Samantha Armytage, the beloved television presenter known for her work on Sunrise, has recently faced a challenging setback while working on the latest season of the hit reality show Farmer Wants a Wife.

The 47-year-old star took to social media to share her struggle with an illness that struck her during the crucial voiceover recording sessions for the Channel 7 program.

In a candid post, Armytage revealed the behind-the-scenes reality of showbiz, showcasing her makeshift remedy station.

The photo she shared featured a script, a jar of Woolworths honey, and a bottle of Difflam sore throat spray—the tools of the trade for anyone battling a stubborn cold or flu.

Accompanying the image were emojis that painted a picture of her current state: a masked face, a male farmer, and a tractor.

The caption, tinged with a touch of humour despite her condition, read, 'Farmer Wants a Wife voiceovers, with no/very little voice.'

Armytage's hand, clutching a cup of tea, was visible in the corner of the image.

The photo included a separate caption saying, ‘@farmeraustralia, coming soon.’

This season marks Armytage's second year as the main host of Farmer Wants a Wife, a role she shares with co-host Natalie Gruzlewski.

The show, which has become a cultural phenomenon in Australia, pairs eligible farmers with individuals searching for love.

The upcoming season promises to introduce viewers to five new farmers on their quest for romance.

The success of Farmer Wants a Wife is undeniable.

Armytage proudly shared some impressive statistics with her followers.

‘A few @farmeraustralia fun facts: Farmer smashed the ratings last year, it’s now 7’s biggest & fastest growing show by a country mile,’ she wrote.

‘Last year, over 8.5 million Aussies tuned in, which meant it was up 16 per cent on the previous year’s ratings (which is almost unheard of these days in free-to-air TV).’

‘Season 14 is just around the corner, Aussies. Farmer Wants a Wife & I being a part of it,’ she concluded.

Fans of the show and Armytage have expressed their excitement for the new season, complimenting her on both her hosting style and her fashion sense.

'Your warmth and genuine kindness always reflects nicely,’ one fan wrote.

‘Will be sure to watch.’

‘You look fab (as always)! So excited for this new season,’ said another.

‘Love your style and love Farmer Wants a Wife,’ added a third.

As the new season approaches, viewers are eager to see if Farmer Bert, Farmer Joe, Farmer Dustin, Farmer Dean, and Farmer Tom will find their happily ever after.

Not a fan of the show. So sad that people will compete for the same man/woman so publicly. Go and live in a country town and attend the local activities - if it’s meant to be it will be

This type of show is pathetic. I don’t have to watch it in order to base my opinion. The ads for it are quite enough. It’s obviously an attention seeking stunt with no intelligence. Is this supposed to be for financial gain?!? Yep, I’m afraid so. Heaven help the future.
