Sam Mac left ‘devastated’ after this Sunrise discovery

If you watch the popular breakfast TV show Sunrise, you know who Sam Mac is. The weather presenter regularly makes live crosses to the hosts throughout the three-and-a-half-hour show each weekday.

During one of his weather segments, however, Sam Mac learned a ‘devastating’ secret from the Sunrise team.

A video shared on Sunrise's Instagram account showed the hosts Monique Wright and Matt Doran to a live cross by Sam, but there was no sound coming from the weather presenter’s end.

‘Devastated to learn they mute me in the studio,’ Sam said and reposted the story to his own account.

Monique and Matt, who were talking to Sam live during the segment, could presumably hear him through their earpieces. However, the audio from Sam’s feed was not played out loud for the crew members to hear.

Sam’s live crosses keep him busy as it usually features him doing outrageous stuff, such as risky stunts on live TV. And this week has been particularly busy for the TV host.

He spoke and performed with the Australian Girls Choir in Sydney, where they sang ACDC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ after Monique challenged them with the idea.

Sam quickly took on the challenge but gave a disclaimer: ‘If it’s terrible, it’s all your fault Monique.’

Sam took the lead and gave it everything he had – prompting a surprised conductor to turn her head at Sam’s ‘vocal prowess’. The crew laughed along at Sam’s attempt at recreating ACDC’s vocal ability.

‘Standing ovation,’ Matt Shirvington declared. Monique bowed down with her hands, and said it was ‘unbelievable’, then added that she ‘loved it’.

This impromptu performance comes after Sam delivered the weather live alongside the choir, and called it one of his ‘favourite mornings’ of the year.

‘Unfortunately for a couple of years we haven’t been able to do this in person, but today we are back - bigger and better than ever in full force,’ he said as he stood with over 150 members of the choir.

He s an idiot. Am getting fed up with inane laughter etc on these shows, watch for the news, not for stupidity. Some is ok but entire show of shouting over each other and giggling is ridiculous

I don't watch the commercial stations in the mornings, I respect myself too much. On the odd occasion I've been somewhere where it's been on I've thought it was rubbish. The actual news content is minimal, and Sam Mac is not a weatherman, he's not a meteorologist, he's just someone that can read an autocue and point to a map.
