Robert Irwin hits milestone after being nominated for prestigious award

In a world where the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry often seem reserved for seasoned veterans, a fresh face has emerged to challenge the status quo.

At the age of 20, Robert Irwin, the son of the late and great Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, has been nominated for one of Australia's most prestigious television awards—the Gold Logie.

The Gold Logie, which recognises the crème de la crème of the Australian television industry, has seen many illustrious personalities grace its nominee list.

However, Robert's nomination is particularly noteworthy, not just because of his age but also because of his legacy.

Following in his father's footsteps, Robert has become a beloved figure on television, showcasing his passion for wildlife and conservation to audiences across the nation.

His nomination follows his recent stint as a co-host on the popular reality show I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, which was broadcast on Network 10.

But the road to the Gold Logie is not without its challenges. Robert faces stiff competition from various television stalwarts, including Larry Emdur, Sonia Kruger, Asher Keddie, Andy Lee, and his co-host Julia Morris.

Not to mention, Tony Armstrong, a popular ABC presenter who clinched a Silver Logie last year, is also in the running.

In addition to the Gold Logie, Robert is nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter, alongside other notable personalities such as Hamish Blake.

The Logies, hosted by comedian Sam Pang, will take place in Sydney on 18 August. This 64th annual event will be broadcast on Channel 7, allowing viewers across Australia to tune in and see if this young conservationist can take home the gold.

The public plays a crucial role in deciding the winners, with online voting now open at vote.tvweeklogies.com.au.

It's an opportunity for fans to show their support for their favourite stars and programs, and with such a varied and talented list of nominees, every vote counts.

This year's Logies nominations span various categories, from drama to comedy, news to reality TV.

It's a testament to the rich tapestry of Australian television and the stories it tells. From gripping dramas like Total Control and The Newsreader to laugh-out-loud comedies like Utopia and Mother and Son, there's no shortage of quality content vying for recognition.

We also have to remember that most of these awards are publicly voted so it doesn’t always go the way we think! I really like Robert and hope he wins too! Somevof the “old faces” get a bit tired! 🤭

NOW I have heard it all. How the hell did this happen? This has become a joke that a 20 year old still in nappies can overtake someone of mature years who has spent years plying their trade. All these lefties, thank goodness this is not of my watching.

Give me a break. Robert Irwin does not deserve such high accolades for doing a one-off, amateur, co-host role where he basically read the tele-prompter and followed his co-host. Give him a few years of actual experience and substantial contribution to TV and maybe he might get a lesser award to start with. Veterans have to wait years to be recognised and Robert is playing on the Irwin legacy. It's a political, biased move, just like the Archibald Art prize and so many other woke, lefty-manilpulated results, many of which are race or gender-based and not based on quality, ability or merit.

That's your opinion I guess you don't have proof

No I don't have proof it's just my opinion. But those that deserve a win don't seem to get a look in.There's been some fabulous ABC and SBS dramas that don't even get a mention it's nearly all reality crap
One way to fix this ppls - get on and vote - there is a car up for prize for voters - cost nothing but your time

Very much admired young man but to be up for a Logie , maybe too soon.

I don't believe he has done his time to earn this award, dosen't matter if some of the people are "old faces" they have done the hard yards to get where they have and deserve their nomination. Do think Robert Irwin has a lot to learn and work to do before he deserves this nomination.
agree whole heartedly.

good luck Robert Irwin
why wasn't The Cheap Seats nominated for any category - they won a Logie last year

I am another 'friend' to the extent that I wish all nominees good luck - not that I care personally about who wins a Logie - matters not to my life. However, I most certainly support the Irwin Family and, in this case, Robert Irwin as he continues the good work and strives to acquire essential funds for them to continue their significant contribution to wildlife conservation and environmental preservation.

At the age of 20 years, he has done more than most 'right royal drivellers' have done in their lifetime, even if afforded another 100 years.

you wish them well, and yet you do not care personally as it matters not to your life. In stead of supporting how about reflecting on the Grandad who started all of this and now they all swan about like he does not exist. No I am not a friend.

Yes, I do wish them well and no I do not care who wins a Logie.
Grandad gave the park to Steve. Bob Irwin has received a retirement package worth over $1 million and is paid a yearly pension of nearly $100,000 since leaving Australia Zoo.23 June 2021. He is 85 years old. He is ok. Who knows about family relations but they have grown their business a lot since then.
"No I am not a friend"..... but, they speak so highly of you!?
