This is a rather verbose interpretation of a children's song we have surely all sung. It's the first verse only...can you identify it?

Scintillate, scintillate, globule vivific,
Fain would I fathom thy nature specific.
Loftily poised in ether capacious,
Closely resembling a gem carbonaceous
