One day an alchemist brought a king a bottle holding a strange liquid. The alchemist said, ‘This liquid I discovered will dissolve anything it touches.’ How did the king know that he was lying?

He is lying as it has not dissolved the bottle the liquid is in.

The bottle had not dissolved.
 
If it was true the contents would have dissolved the bottle 😄

if the liquid dissolved everything it touched then why didn't it dissolve the bottle
