Goooood Morning Riddle Masters!! 🥳

Let's get to your third and final riddle for the week courtesy of member @Wandiwa and trust me, this one’s a doozy.

A butcher goes to the market with $100 cash. He has to buy exactly 100 animals. There are cows, geese and chickens for sale. A cow costs $15, a goose costs $1, and a chicken costs $0.25. He has to buy at least one of each animal and has to spend all his money. What does the butcher buy?

Isn’t that a tricky one? If you think you have the answer, post it in the comments below.

Easy as…
3 Cows @ $15 = $45
41 Geese @ $1 = $41
56 Chickens @ $.25 = $14
Therefore;
Animals = 3 + 41 + 56 = 100
Cost = $45 + $41 + $14 = 100

There is only one answer and it's 3 cows, 41 geese and 56 chickens. The puzzle states that the butcher must buy 100 animals.

" So, there are a lot of possible solutions to this problem, like 3 cows, 41 geese, and 56 chickens, and 6 Cows, 5 Geese, and 20 Chickens. As long as the combination of animals adds up to $100 and includes at least one of each type of animal, it's a valid answer! Congratulations to those who got it correct. Scroll down to the bottom of this newsletter ....."

I'm sorry to say Vella, that you are wrong on this one. He has to buy exactly one hundred animals for his one hundred dollars, and so your example of 6 cows, 5 geese and 20 chickens is nowhere near the mark.

There has to be exactly 100 animals! So the only correct answer is 3 cows, 41 geese and 56 chickens.

The solution must also be the purchase of exactly 100 animals, so any answer that totals $100 is not correct unless it also totals 100 animals

Hi Vella.....I'm sorry to say that I can't accept this honour today.....you see I didn't read the question right....the answer is you must spend $100... ON 100 Animals and whilst I spent $100 the total number of animals was only 89. So my answer is INCORRECT. Bugga ! 😲😂😉

Thanks, I did not submit my answer as I only achieved the $ value but not the number of animals. I was 2 animals short of 100. Jo xx
