It’s time for the third and final riddle of the week. Brace yourselves:

Three men are sitting in a small motorboat one kilometre from the shoreline. The first is afraid of water, the second is scared of drowning, and the third is afraid of sharks. The boat’s motor is not operational, and there is nothing to row with. How do they get to the shoreline?

They walk? Considering their respective fears, it's unlikely they would even take the boat out onto the water, /The question states they were sitting in a boat a kilometer from the shoreline, but it could have been parked in someone's backyard.

If they are not on dry land, but indeed are in the water, the flare to be carried by boaters can be used and they can calmly await the local Marine Rescue Unit To which they can give a donation. Swimming lessons can then be taken by the ones afraid of water and drowning, while counselling can be sort by the one afraid of sharks.
