There is barely enough information to be sure. Assuming that the body was right where the footprints ended, and there was no sign of maneuvering of either the footprints or the parallel lines at the site of the body, then the police should be looking for someone on skis or perhaps a snowmobile. Much better examination of the parallel lines may clarify this.
