REVEALED: 'Magical' cleaner removes soap scum and rust stains from the shower in minutes!

There is only one foolproof way to make sure that you will never have to clean soap scum from a bathroom ever again – and that is to forbid anyone from using soap and water!

We are, of course, just joking with you all, so please don't take that 'advice' seriously. (Keep on using soap and water when you bathe!)

But don't you think it's funny and kind of ironic that the things we use to clean ourselves end up being the things we have to clean off of bathroom surfaces?

When soap scum is left to accumulate and solidify, getting rid of it can be quite stressful.

While there are several commercial cleaners on the market that claim to get rid of soap scum in bathrooms, nothing compares to a tried-and-true natural and homemade solution.

Here, we're going to share with you a 'magical' cleaning solution that can effectively get rid of not only stubborn soap scum on bathroom surfaces but also rust stains and more!

Carolina McCauley, who calls herself the 'cleaning queen' on social media, is known for sharing home hacks with her 2.2 million Instagram followers.

In one of her most recent posts, she revealed how she makes her shower look sparkling clean using only a trusty scrubbing brush and a DIY natural spray.

The mum-of-two from Perth calls it the 'Shower Magic' spray, but is it really as effective as she claims it to be? Let's find out!

Here are the ingredients she used to make the cleaning formula:
  • 2 cups of warm water
  • 1/2 cup of baking soda
  • 1 cup of vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of dish soap
  • A few drops of your favourite essential oil (optional)

The 'magical' cleaner is simple to use; all you need to do is pour it into a spray bottle and then apply a generous amount of it to the parts of the shower that are stained with soap scum and rust.

After letting the solution sit and work its magic for about 10 minutes, scrub off the stains with a brush and wipe the area clean with a microfibre cloth.

And just like that, your shower is spotless and gleaming once more!

Carolina's video has been viewed more than a million times, and it's not surprising to see that many of her followers were amazed by the cleaning tip!

Several praised and complimented her for the clever idea, and they also expressed their eagerness to try it out in their homes.

'This is my favourite mix of all time,' one of the followers commented on the post. Another agreed and added, 'I've used this mixture without the baking soda for the last several years to clean everything!'

Aside from soap scum, there are also hard water stains to look out for. Watch this video below to learn how to deal with them!

We never get a build-up on our glass as everyone who uses the shower uses a rubber blade to clear the glass of water. This stops any build-up & it is easy to do immediately after you finish the shower. When I had a cleaning lady I stopped her from cleaning the glass as she always made a mess of it. This is one reason I don't have a cleaning lady now!

I tried this one today on my kitchen tiles. I clean regularly but never manage to get the grout clean on the tiles around stove.

I was very impressed , see before and after picture below . The grout is now white !

I do want to try this mixture using only 1 cup of water instead of 2.

Once you have your shower glass cleaned using your preferred method (I just use Windex Shower Glass Cleaner), get a bottle of Rainex Original from your local auto accessories shop. Spray the glass lightly and wipe until you see a "haze" on the glass - then spray and wipe again for a second coat. Once the "haze" is dry, buff clear with a microfibre cloth - it comes up very clean.

Your glass is now "hydrophobic" and will repel water / soap etc and stays clean for ages. All I do after I use the shower is to pour some clean water over the glass - you can use a flexible shower nozzle or I just use a small watering can.

The "professional" glass sealing treatments are a rip-off. I have tried more than one and have not found one that meets the claims of its suppliers. Rainex on the other hand, has been around for years and is a known and proven product in the auto industry. I use it on our cars and you never have to use the windscreen wipers - the windscreen clears itself even in reasonably heavy rainfall.
