Grocery shopping can get so darn expensive sometimes, especially during the festive season if you’re lucky enough to be able to have family and friends around this year.
Here at the SDC, we’re always on the hunt for a good bargain, and that’s exactly what this one Darwin shopper did this week as she managed to snag $100 worth of items in Coles for less than $10.

The Coles shopper was able to pick up five 500 gram packs of Steggles turkey mince, which were usually sold for $6 each or two for $11, for just 60 cents per pack. Meaning, what would have been a $28 purchase was cut down to just $3, a whopping $25 in savings!
There was also a massive bargain on cheese packs, and she didn’t pass up this opportunity either. A huge haul of blue vein cheese packs, generally sold for $14 each, was priced between 71 and 77 cents each, and she bought around four packs.
She also picked up another type of cheese for just 25 cents and brought home three wrapped packs of deli meat, which had been reduced to 38 cents each.
Sharing her finds to a Facebook group, the thrifty shopper wrote, “This was my proud moment.”
“The fancy blue vein cheese that was $14 per piece, I made a lovely carbonara pasta for a big family for two nights,” she said, putting the cheese to good use.
Fellow shoppers were envious of her discovery, calling it “amazing” and “awesome”.
On Tuesday, another Coles shopper shared her husband’s fantastic find: $10.50 worth of potatoes for just 51 cents.
“My husband is doing most of the shopping at the moment and is becoming a real bargain hunter. He was impressed with these bargains today,” wrote the wife in a Facebook post.

Honestly, we’re feeling a bit envious of these bargains too! Make sure to check the nearest Coles, Woolies, Aldi, and IGA, near you, or else you might just miss a few of these deals.
Finding markdowns like this is often more of an art than a science, but some people believe there are specific days, times, and locations to check to increase your chances. Just last week, we also wrote about another Coles customer scoring $243 worth of meat buys for only $10. Read the article here.
