REVEALED: Crease-free laundry trick without bringing out the iron

Many Aussies say that they find ironing to be a pretty tedious and time-consuming task. On some days, they are simply too preoccupied with other housework to find the time to get the iron and ironing board out.

We agree, and there are also those hectic mornings when you are forced to pull any decent shirt from the closet only to discover that it is wrinkled!

And because you're already running behind schedule, you'll just have to put up with the fashion sin...

The next time this happens to you, and you don't have the time, nor the patience, to drag out your iron and board, save your public image by trying out this trick!

All you need is a couple of ice cubes and a tumble dryer, and you're guaranteed crease-free clothes in just a matter of minutes.

In a recent post on Instagram, a mum-of-four has revealed a nifty trick for making sure her clothes, and even her bedsheets, are always crease-free without having to touch the iron.

According to Liz Amaya, who works as an interior stylist, the only thing that she needs to do is throw her wrinkled clothes into the dryer with a handful of ice cubes, turn on the dryer, and give it about ten minutes to work its magic.

Inside, the ice cubes will start to melt, producing moisture and a steam-like effect that will smooth out any creases. When it's done, you can just take your clothes out and be amazed that there are no more creases!

Liz claimed that her followers would 'never have to touch an iron again' if they ever try this trick.

It appears that this method is effective not only on wrinkled clothing but also on larger fabrics and bed sheets. She even showed a smooth bedspread to show how well the hack worked!

'It is ideal for those times when you're in a rush to get out the door,' the mum added.

Liz went on to explain that the ice should be put in the clothes dryer with a load of dry clothes, not during the first drying cycle.

'You do it with dry sheets, just like with your ironing,' she said.

The video has been viewed more than 50,000 times on Instagram, and a good number of Liz's followers have complimented and thanked her for the drying method.

One woman who had tried the trick was delighted and said that 'it works' while a second one agreed and added, 'This is very clever!'

Considering how easy and simple it is to do, others stated that they intend to give it a shot as soon as they get the chance.

'Here I am wanting to wash the dreadful duvet cover again just to avoid ironing. It's my favourite set, but all favouritism goes out the window when I see those creases,’ one woman wrote in the comments.

Someone else joked that she wouldn't be trying the trick, but that she was grateful to Liz for reminding her to fill up her ice tray.

This clothes drying method is handy, but even so, we can't deny that taking a seat and ironing your clothes can be a very relaxing and even therapeutic activity in and of itself.

Just picture yourself relaxing, sitting with a heap of freshly laundered clothes to one side while listening to some of your favourite tunes in the background. It feels pretty nice, doesn't it? (Surely it’s not just us?)

I don't use ice cubes (not sure if it's good for the machine) but I do find 10 minutes in the dryer whilst I'm getting ready is enough to de-crease almost every item of clothing I own. These days I don't even own an iron, since my son "borrowed" mine over a year ago!:)

I don't one either. I don't have clothes that wrinkle basically.

Is this a typo.....don't be misled.....I think it should read clothes dryer rather than washing machine.
My secret is to take time when hanging your washing on the clothesline...... shaken out, not scrunched up, in shape to reduce the wrinkles and crinkles. When removing your clothes from the line, fold carefully to reduce crushing.
When it's hot, don't leave your washing on the line for too long ....the heat sets any creases.
(This doesn't apply to today, it was -0.7°C earlier this morning, it's risen to -0.4°C now!)

Thank you @JayKay for pointing it out! The typo has been edited already. 😄

I don't enjoy ironing and have no need for a dryer in my life.

As my granddaughter said it only made her lazy when she had a dryer, but no longer.

My husband and I have lines under the verandah that we use every time we wash and items are folded and put away, or if they have to be ironed I have found a great way to cut down on ironing time by only ironing the collars and cuffs of my blouses during this very cold winter we are having purely because I always have a jacket covering the rest.

I havent used my iron for a long time, just smoothing everything out with my hands. Recently (because of all the rain!) I got a clothes dryer that has a de-crease programme!
But: a few months ago I discovered Audible for me, and now I WANT to iron so I can listen to a book without feeling bad! Go figure 😂😂
