The Uniquely Aussie Awards is Wotif.com's annual guide to the quintessential Aussie travel experience — the awards highlight the unique joys synonymous with local travel such as hot chips on the beach, regional bakeries serving up nostalgic baked goods, country pubs, and stunning pool hotels.

In their fourth year, the awards will also showcase many local legends, businesses, and attractions that represent a classic Aussie travel experience.

Wotif Managing Director, Daniel Finch, said that they received thousands of entries and votes from all over the country this year which resulted in the company uncovering some of Australia's best-kept local secrets.

“Country charm, cheesy jaffles and creamy vanilla slices – no one does them quite like Australia, and the thousands of nominations we received this year shows Aussies are a passionate bunch,” Mr Finch said.

“There’s so much to love and discover within Australia, and with a really exciting summer period ahead, we hope to inspire and encourage Aussies to plan their next adventure and support local businesses.”
The Uniquely Aussie Awards include six categories: Best Jaffles, Best Country Pub, Best Hot Chips, Best Vanilla Slice, Best Hotel Pool, and Best National Park.

Here’s the list of winners for each category:

• Best Jaffles: Miss Jaffles in Cronulla, New South Wales
• Best Country Pub: Beechwood Hotel in Beechwood, New South Wales
• Best Hot Chips: Chicken Chef in Blair Athol, South Australia
• Best Vanilla Slice: Bridgewater Bakehouse, Victoria
• Best Hotel Pool: JW Marriot on the Gold Coast, Queensland
• Best National Park: Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory of Australia
