REMOVING OIL STAINS

I absolutely swear by this ridiculously cheap and easy method of removing oil stains.
I have been using this method for over 30 years!
The biggest secret, if you want it to work, is firstly...,
DO NOT ATTEMPT WASHING OR WIPING STAIN WITH SOAP OR WATER BEFOREHAND.
If necessary, soak up excess oil etc, with a DRY paper towel or cloth.
All you need is TALCUM POWDER (any type will do).
Cover the stain generously with talc and pat it on.
Leave garment with talc on, until ready to wash, or wash immediately after.
Wash as normal, preferably with warm or hot water.
NB: This will NOT work on stains that have been previously washed.

Wow, thank you @mOiOz! Definitely taking notes on this one! I know it says 'oil stains', but in your experience, has this worked with stains of other types like maybe tomato sauce or coffee (provided it's applied immediately after)?

Yes, it works with anything that has oil in... such as tomato sauce, fried foods, salad dressing, fat from meat, etc.
Have never tried it on coffee or wine, I would use Vanish for those.. It's mainly for oil-based items as the talc absorbs the oil from the cloth.

Make sure to use a very generous amount of talc... pat it in and apply more if needed.
I'd love to hear your results.
