Shoppers never expected to see a fast-food bag turned into a fashion accessory—but one retailer made it happen.
A simple design twist turned a familiar logo into a must-have, and fans rushed to stores to get their hands on it.
Now, the quirky buy has already sold out, leaving shoppers both delighted and frustrated.
Aussie shopper Ash took to social media to reveal her newest find—Peter Alexander’s Maccas Backpack.
‘So I officially cannot be trusted with money,’ she admitted.
‘Yes I bought it. I had to have it. It is so freaking cool.’
The backpack, which retailed for $39.95, was designed to perfectly resemble the classic McDonald’s paper bag.
It came with a snap button closure, backpack straps and handy internal pockets, making it more than just a novelty item.
Shoppers were quick to react to Ash’s post, with many admitting they also bought the bag or planned to.
‘Frieeend!! I did not need to see this as an adult who shouldn't have adult money,’ one person joked.
‘Had to go buy it after I saw your video,’ another agreed.
‘Hahahaha now this is cool!!!!’ added another.
‘It’s different and I love it,’ one commenter wrote.
But while the bag sparked plenty of excitement, it quickly disappeared from shelves.
‘Girl I went to every Peter Alexander and it’s all sold out—you’re lucky!!!! Hahaha,’ one disappointed shopper said.
‘I just went to buy one but apparently there is insufficient stock,’ another shared.
For those who missed out, the retailer still has other Macca’s-themed products, including pyjama sets, dressing gowns, hats, slippers and even a dog bandana.
One social media creator showcased the full collection in a video that reached more than 650,000 views.

‘PSA Macca's girlies run to Peter Alexander,’ she wrote, displaying the pieces in her clip.
‘Are you kidding me? I need all of it!’
If a Macca’s bag can suddenly become a fashion must-have, it’s clear that style rules aren’t what they used to be.
Trends are shifting faster than ever, and what once seemed unusual is now worn with confidence.
It raises a bigger question—are we all dressing too casually these days?
