Some of us are blessed with a natural knack for cooking, but others… are better off staying completely away from the kitchen.
Surely, we’ve all had our fair share of kitchen nightmares and we’ve got to admit that the task can be tricky sometimes. The truth is, you need a good set of skills to be able to whip up a good meal! But if you’re crucifying yourself over a burnt batch of cookies, we’re here to reassure you that it’s totally okay – because some people have done much worse.
Several wannabe chefs shared their worst cooking disasters on Reddit and we must warn you… they are downright atrocious.
One cook failed so badly that they reduced chicken legs to charcoal, while another set their kitchen on fire… completely melting their cupboards. Yikes!

Another user attempted to make some poached eggs but ended up with something out of a horror movie. And no, we’re not exaggerating. They really do look like organs, don’t they?
We don’t even know what to say. Image Credit: Daily Mail
While a third cooked up burger patties that seem like they are begging for help. Let’s all take a moment of silence for those struggling patties.
Someone, please help those burgers. Please. Image Credit: Daily Mail
These two home cooks must have gotten ahold of the wrong recipe because not even Sherlock knows how to solve what they came up with.

One rookie proved that using plastic cooking trays in the oven can lead to a meltdown. So, if you weren’t aware of that (I’m not going to lie…I certainly wasn’t), please refrain from making the same mistake!

And last but not least, someone thought it would be a nifty idea to use the oven as extra storage. Spoiler alert– it’s not.

If you can’t get enough of these, we’ve got a couple more from other users all over the internet!
Starting off strong with one mum who simply wanted to give her son an adorable cartoon character cake for his third birthday. What could possibly go wrong? Well…
“This was 7 years ago (at the time the pictures were posted, but now 11 years) for my son’s third birthday. It was supposed to be Bob The Builder." explained Jeanna.

While another tried to whip up something special for her dad’s retirement party… except that things went south quickly.
"My dad was a firefighter and for his retirement party, I was going to make firefighter-themed cookies. This was supposed to be an axe... I couldn't bring myself to use it." she said.

Finally, a mum tried to show her creative side by making some ‘happy’ pancakes. The only problem is that it ended up looking terrifying…
"I tried to make ‘happy face’ pancakes. They came out more creepy than happy." she captioned the post.
At least she tried, right? Image Credit: Cara Anderson Fox (Facebook)
We hope some of these cooking failures made you smile today! If you’ve got any embarrassing cooking stories you’re willing to share, feel free to do so in the comments!
