Red Rooster honours everyday Australian heroes with a mouth-watering discount

As we all know, first responders* are the unsung heroes of our communities. They're the ones who work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to ensure our safety and well-being.

And while we can never truly repay them for their selfless service, we can certainly show our appreciation* in small, meaningful ways.

That's why we're thrilled to share an exclusive deal* that's just for them!

On Thursday, May 16, 2024, Red Rooster*, Australia's beloved chicken destination, is offering a hearty 'thank you' to these remarkable men and women* with a 20% discount on their orders*.

This gesture is part of the Australian Retailers Association's (ARA) First Responders Day*, an initiative that's now in its third year.

It is the retail sector's way of giving back to those who dedicate their lives* to protecting and saving others in times of crisis.

First Responders Day* is a day set aside by the ARA to acknowledge and thank first responders* for their courage, commitment, and contribution.

These are ordinary individuals with extraordinary dedication* to their roles, and we think it's only fitting that we recognise their efforts.

So, who's eligible for this generous offer?

The discount is available to a wide range of Australian-based first responders*—including medical and health workers like doctors*, nurses, and paramedics*, as well as ambulance staff*, police personnel*, firefighters*, defence and border force personnel*, State Emergency Service (SES)*, Country Fire Authority (CFA)*, Marine Rescue teams*, lifesavers*, and quarantine workers*.

While you may not be eligible for the discount, you might like to help spread awareness and appreciation for the efforts of first responders in your life*.

To take advantage of this deal, first responders* simply need to head into their local Red Rooster* restaurant and present their Photo ID showing their work identity*. They can also show up in their work uniform!

It's important to note that the offer is available in restaurants* and drive-thru ONLY* and is not available for online orders or delivery.

The discount is valid at all Red Rooster restaurants* across Australia, excluding those in stadiums and airports, and it's only available on Thursday, May 16, 2024*.

For more information and a full list of eligible first responders, visit the ARA's dedicated page here*.

Now, let's talk a bit more about Red Rooster*. With over 50 years under its belt, it is Australia's first and favourite chicken shop*, known for satisfying the nation's chicken cravings.

What sets Red Rooster* apart is its unique offering of both roast and fried chicken*, making it a true specialist in the fast-food industry.

The brand is currently undergoing an exciting period of change and innovation, with restaurant refurbishments, uniform redesigns, menu innovations, and advances in technology and convenience.

Each Red Rooster restaurant* is a small business owned and operated by a local proprietor.

These family-owned businesses do more than just feed the local community; they employ locals and give back through charity and sponsorships*, making them a cherished part of the Australian landscape.

And let's not forget about the ARA, the oldest, largest, and most diverse national retail body representing a $420 billion sector that employs more than 1.4 million Australians.

As the voice of the Australian retail industry, the ARA advocates for more than 120,000 retail shop fronts and online stores.

So, if you're a first responder* or know someone who is, don't let this deal pass you by. It's a small token of appreciation for the big sacrifices* they make every day.

And for our members who are retired, why not spread the word to your children, grandchildren, neighbours, friends, or even your own doctor? Let's make sure our first responders* feel the gratitude they so richly deserve on their special day.
Key Takeaways
We'd love to hear from you in the comments below—if you're a first responder*, are you planning to take up this offer? And for our other members, how will you be showing your appreciation for the first responders* in your life on May 16?

I'm very proud of my daughter , who is a nurse.
She has now worked in the operating room as an anaesthetic nurse for a few year now. After surgeries are finished She will also look after post opp patients.

I have seen her work a 10 hour shift , come home at 7 only to be called in for emergency surgery at 1 am .

She works in a private hospital and there are only a handful of nurses that are trained in anaesthetics and as she lives a few minutes from the hospital she is always one if the first called in .

This photo is from an award she was given.

I think our first responders are more worthy than 20 % off that is actually an insult. Red rooster at least give them 50 % off

Why would they need to show their I D if they are in uniform?.
The uniform & photo ID are so that the many - pardon me for the language to follow - scumbags that rip off the generosity offered by others is not abused. And we ALL know that there are many of that ilk in our midst.

Instead of ripping off organisations doing good for the community we should all be SHOUTING a big Thank You for helping us and keeping us safe.

Why would they need to show their I D if they are in uniform?.
Anyone can dress up as a Nurse or just walk in in Civies & ask for the discount they are not entitled to.

Only recently two thugs using a Police I.D. Shield fooled people into letting them into their home & robbed them.

I suggest you may wish to let us all know here how you get on then after Thursday.
The 20% discount would be considerably more than offset by the costume hire fees. False economy on my part there!

Who would drive 20 kms for the sole purpose of getting petrol which is 10 cents a litre cheaper? Same twisted logic....

Yes, fill up once a month with cheap petrol but sometime in the next 28 to 30 days a refill will be needed at the higher price. Petrol cans & rightly so weren't allowed to be filled either.

Would be too much bother for me for numerous reasons, one of them being that a station North of the River would most likely do this & l couldn't be bothered being a part of the stop, start driving there & back
