Real Estate Agent Slapped with $22,000 Fine! You Won't Believe What They Did in a Client's Home!

They say there’s no use crying over spilt milk–but for one real estate agent, ‘spilt milk’ was exactly the problem!

On July 18, Mike Rose was fined $22,000 ($20,000 CAD) for an ‘unbecoming’ incident that took place last year in the home of one of his clients.

So, what did this realtor do to receive such a hefty penalty? It turns out that a home surveillance camera showed him taking a sneaky sip of a carton of milk from his client’s fridge. You can only imagine the shock that the homeowner Lyska Fullerton experienced when she saw the footage!

'Shocked doesn’t even cover it. It was just disbelief,' Ms Fullerton said, adding that Rose had previously sat on and broken the arm of her couch during a previous visit. 'In what world do you think that this is ever okay to do?'

Rose told the British Columbia Financial Services Authority that he was 'unusually dehydrated' due to new medication and was under 'considerable stress'. He also offered 'a most sincere apology' for his actions.

'I have never done this kind of thing before, nor will I ever behave in this way again…I broke the trust of the homeowners whose house I was showing. Although I have apologised directly to the homeowners, I know that actions like this are not quickly forgiven nor easily forgotten.'

Just a quick reminder dear members, please share this story with your friends and family to remind everyone to stay vigilant and always choose an experienced and trustworthy real estate agent.

At the end of the day, this incident shows it pays to be extra careful when it comes to ensuring the safety and privacy of your home. Ms Fullerton is a prime example–the Ring security camera she installed in her home alerted her to this strange occurrence, holding the perpetrator accountable and getting her the justice she deserves.

The Role of Surveillance Cameras in Home Security

Without a shadow of doubt, home surveillance systems have proven to be one of the most integral parts of maintaining a home's security. Unlike when security cameras were a luxury, today, they have grown markedly affordable and even more seamless to use, with most systems being controlled by just a few taps on our smartphones!

The perks of home video surveillance systems are extensive–from deterring unwanted intruders to catching sneaky realtors sipping milk! But on a more serious note, their pivotal role in capturing crucial evidence of unlawful access or acts within private properties can’t be overstated. This home security tool primarily helped Lyska Fullerton stand her ground and seek justice.

Home surveillance cameras not only monitor the outside perimeters of your home to spot possible trespassers, they also keep an eye on the activities occurring within. This would be particularly handy in property inspections or visits by service personnel. A trustworthy agent or worker should have nothing to worry about and everything to gain, while the homeowner can have peace of mind.

Moreover, the peace of mind and security created by surveillance cameras is priceless. In fact, studies have shown that the mere sight of surveillance cameras acts as a deterrent to potential thieves. Even if someone does invade your home, chances are high you'll have recorded evidence of the culprit, as was the case for Ms Fullerton.

I was Renting a unit up unt recently when it was sold. The first open home, I was overseas visiting my dying mother, and came back to an awful stink. They had allowed potential buy sets to roam the place unsupervised and one has opened the chest freezer and knocked the plug half out of the socket, therefore I lost about $700 worth of food, and am still trying to get the smell completely out of the freezer.
I was at work while another one took place and again the potential buyers were allowed to roam free, even though I said it wasn’t to happen again, and this time a necklace that was given to me by my late son was stolen.
No apologies no nothing. I’m still absolutely spewing

I do not understand the practise ofbyou leaving your home when an agent wants to show a potential buyer through. We were staying at a friends home when we all had to leave as the estate agent wanted to show someone through their home. No way will I do that never. I will be home when any potential buyer wants to look through our home. I trust NO ONE these days. It is a stupid thing to do.!!!!!

I like that... TUST NO ONE

When we were selling our house we weren't allowed to be there while the estate agent was showing people around, & neither were our two dogs. One time the weather was too awful to go for a walk with the dogs, so the real estate guy suggested we wait with the dogs in our garage in the back yard. Luckily, this was also my husband's "man cave", with tv & chairs etc. After waiting for ages to be told that the prospective buyers had left, we ventured outside to find that there was no one around, & our front door had been left wide open! We called the estate agent's office & he was already back there. He forgot we were in the garage waiting. We could have been robbed!

It's amazing what some people will do in other people's homes. My sister is selling and her toilets were used during the open house. Not only is this disgusting but someone could have walked in on them. It was a busy open. And she knows they did because they left the seat up.:oops:o_O
