Rare, newly-minted Bluey coins make their way to Australia Post

With the rise of new, limited-edition coins, collectors are looking for ways to snag these rare items.

Good news is on the horizon for coin enthusiasts as Australia's favourite animated character just made their way to Australia Post.

The new Bluey Dollarbuck collection is now available for purchase in Australia Post.

Buyers could purchase the coins individually or as a complete set.

The Bluey Dollarbuck coins are a set of $1 coins adorned with charming images of Bluey, her sister Bingo, and the rest of their fun-loving family and friends.

One in every ten coins will be a 'special-coloured' version, making this collection unique.

Australia Post customers might receive a Bluey coin in their change when shopping at participating Australia Post outlets.

The collection will be available until Sunday, 29 September, or until stocks last.

The Royal Australian Mint CEO, Leigh Gordon, shared their excitement for their collaboration with Australia Post.

'We hope that through this new Bluey program, we are cultivating the coin collector of tomorrow,' Gordon shared.

The individual Bluey coins cost $10 each, while the coin and folder sets are available for $29.

A Bluey Stamp Pack is also available, containing 12 $1.50 self-adhesive MyStamps and a large look-a-like stamp featuring Bluey and her family.

Yet, it's not just the young or the young-at-heart who showed excitement about these coins.

Entrepreneurs and savvy collectors took to online marketplaces, where complete collections and uncirculated coins are being sold for over $400.

Released last June, the Bluey Dollarbuck coins were first available at the Mint Coin Shop in Canberra and via a ballot on the Royal Australian Mint website.

For those interested in this limited-edition collection, act quickly.

The Bluey Dollarbuck coins have been a hot commodity—so much so that about $600,000 worth of these coins were stolen recently from a Sydney warehouse.

With their value already soaring in online marketplaces, they could become a treasured item for years to come.

Visit the Australia Post website or head to your local participating post office and get the chance to own a piece of Australian pop culture history.

As with "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS", &, in the name of "Decency", when will the "DO GOODERS" demand poor little Bluey wear a pair of pants ? Didn't they, along the line, make Winnie Poo & Paddington Bear wear them ? What about Donald with his nephews, Huey, Dewey & Louie, also Mickey his nephews, Mortimer (Morty) & Fieldmouse ( Ferdie) they all had to wear them.

I'll stand corrected on Donald & his nephews.

What a lot of rot this posting is. I know what you'll say.

Funny how the Australia post website crashed before it even supposed to be open at 8.30am. Then when it was back up and running it wouldn’t accept my Visa card for payment, the same card I use for every online site I use. Then after half hour they were all sold out. I did put my name in the ballot that was running but missed out there too. I didn’t bother going to local PO as I’m sure the mad crowd would have been lined up at some ungodly hour, they would be lucky if our PO even got any coins. i did notice a couple of websites on eBay sunday night, before the coins release, advertising them for sale, how can that be? I ordered one tube set from eBay, selling for $39.99, ten dollars more than PO, more out of curiosity than anything, to see what I get delivered. This was on Sunday night, before the release. I also noticed on eBay some single colored coins for $500+ while I was trying to access the PO site Monday morning. It is a shame there are not 1 set restrictions put on these popular coin releases so more people can get them and rip off agents, who obviously have insiders helping them, can’t buy up heaps to put on eBay at exorbitant prices. I have 1 grandaughter who loves bluey so I was hoping to get her a set for her birthday. Never mind, if the set from eBay comes and is genuine she will get that.

It’s the sicko minds that turns innocent children’s characters into something “rude”. Children don’t see the characters like that. “Political Correctness”, is so pathetic. 😡

the mint has greedily destroyed the value of coin /stamp collections by overcharging ...now these coins may not increase in value in ones lifetime, maybe in our kids lifetime might get some advantage ..remember in 1966 a stamp cost5cents (20 for $1) today that same purchase would get you 1 stamp for a dollar

Why does the mint spend millions of dollars making coins like this and with the king ect, when the government and the banks are trying to ditch cash. Especially when so many Australian are living in poverty. That money would be better spent on Public Housing and other things to benefit Australians. For eg, medical, dental, prescriptions, better roads etc. Such a waste.
