R U OK? Day: A Conversation Can Save a Life

September 14th marks R U OK? Day.

R U OK? is an Australian non-profit suicide prevention organisation that was founded by Gavin Larkin in 2009. It revolves around the slogan 'R U OK?' and advocates for people to have conversations with others. One conversation could, after all, save a life.

Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:
1) Ask R U OK?
2) Listen
3) Encourage action
4) Check in

What to do if you or someone you know isn't okay?
Please check this resources page to find organisations providing support. You are never alone.

WORRIED SOMEONE MIGHT BE SUICIDAL?
Contact Lifeline (13 11 14) for crisis support. If life is in danger, call 000

So, members, are you okay?

R U OK? Why not get a positibe mindset and do some positive things
SDC always reports negativity
I think that SDC are trying to do something positive by putting R U OK? Day out there and letting people know about this day. R U OK? Day has been around for quite a number of years. Personally I think EVERYDAY should be R U OK? Day. I have no hesitation in asking family members, friends, work colleagues etc,etc if they are doing okay if I get a gut feeling that something's not right.😊
