Punchbowls in the 70s

I remember in the 70s every party or function you went to there was a punch served in a large bowl.
There were the non alcoholic one and the one with alcohol.
Or it started out non alcoholic 😉

Did you make a Fruit Punch

I have shared a couple of recipes in the cooking section

I remember and I still have a very fancy cut crystal punch bowl that has a base it sits on, a ladle and twelve small handled crystal punch cups that hang on hooks around the side. Haven’t used it for years. After we were married I needed a china cabinet deep enough to hold it so hubby and I searched furniture shops until we found a carved rosewood china cabinet with curved glass panels and door on it, fancy turned legs, the centre part behind the door was just the right depth for the punch bowl. It sits in our lounge room, with the punch bowl and full of other valuable and sentimental items in it. It was the first piece of furniture we bought as we were renting a furnished flat at the time, and it is one of our most cherished pieces of furniture.

I can recall punch bowls were often given as wedding presents.
Lovely how innocent objects come to represent such treasured times, eh?
