I still love a ploughman's lunch it was only ever, Bread, Cheese, and Branston style pickles. I have never seen meat with it, and have had it all over the UK.

The bread should be a huge chunk of fresh, crusty loaf, the cheese a chunk of local cheddar and usually a sweet spiced pickled onion or two. For the wusses out there some will also offer a freshly churned butter. Washed down with a local beer or cider it is a meal fit for the gods!!
