Procter & Gamble recalls aerosol hair products from Coles and Woolworths after they were found to contain a CANCER-CAUSING CHEMICAL

Procter & Gamble has issued an immediate recall on some of its aerosol hair products after the cancer-causing chemical benzene was detected in them on Wednesday.
The aerosol hair products that are being recalled include Pantene Never Tell Dry shampoo 120g, Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam 169g, Waterl<ss Dry Shampoo No Residue for fine or oily hair 106g, Waterl<ss Dry Shampoo Foam for thick or curly hair 150g, Waterl<ss Dry Shampoo Foam for thick or curly hair 150g, Waterl<ss Dry Conditioner instant moisture for thick hair 102g, and Waterl<ss Regimen Pack for fine or oily hair.

The company, which ordered a recall for the hair products from the shelves of Woolworths and Coles, said that it is currently doing a full review of the products after “recent reports that indicated traces of benzene”.
Procter & Gamble's statement read: "Benzene is classified as a human carcinogen, a substance that could potentially cause cancer depending on the level and extent of exposure.”
“Out of an abundance of caution, we have issued a voluntary recall at the consumer level of aerosol dry shampoo spray products and aerosol dry conditioner spray products from Pantene and Waterl<ss.”
Customers who purchased the products are advised to immediately stop using them and to discard them appropriately.
Procter & Gamble is also offering refunds to those people who bought the products, requesting them to seek more information regarding the reimbursements via the Consumer Care team at the following contact numbers from Monday to Friday between 9 am – 6 pm local time on 1800 028 280.
