I only use butter for making garlic bread or maybe the occasional cake. When the cost is too high I buy premade garlic bread and add cheese flakes. Mostly cheaper than buying butter. We use low cholesterol spread from Aldi for day to day needs.
Low cholesterol anything is garbage. Cholesterol is one of the bodies most needed substances. Too low and it causes so much grief. Liver makes it everyday otherwise we would not survive. Ditch the junk margarine with all the chemicals and go back to butter. Best there is no matter the cost
 
Would not buy anything else. Margarine and other spreads are rubbish and do nothing for your health.
So agree. I only have normal butter for baking, and soft butter for general use. It is only softened with either milk or water. We used to add water to butter years ago, (in NZ) to make it easier to spread on bread. Put it in the big mixer and beat it. If not all used, next morning, just room soften it and soon ready to use.

Quite right! Guess what, the brain contains around 20% cholesterol. Quoted from an expert site "The magical areas where communication between brain cells takes place—are lined by cholesterol-rich membranes responsible for passing neurotransmitters like serotonin" wonder why so many are getting Alzheimers????
 
Making your own is so easy and you can put your spin on it, like more salt, less salt or adding garlic to it at a much cheaper price.
 
Why the hell are we playing a high price just because overseas do. Petrol, seafood and gas are the same. We should be be paying a lot lower for heaps if things instead of propping up export prices.
 
Maybe we'll all be having 'Dripping' if this price rising continues,as was the case many years ago.😵‍💫
