Pharmacist spills secret to immediate earache relief using these household items

Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night with a painful earache?

It's one of the most common childhood ailments. According to Better Health, four out of five children will experience it at least once.

But earaches can also strike people of any age.

Luckily, pharmacist Dr Angela Dori, who has a doctoral degree in pharmacy, knows a trick for getting quick relief from earaches using only items in your kitchen.

With over half a million followers on social media, Dr Dori is becoming famous for her home remedy hacks. In one popular video, she demonstrated a technique anyone can try at home.

If you’re suffering from earache, Dr Dori recommended using warm water, a paper towel and a glass.

Dr Dori dampened a paper towel with warm water and placed it in the bottom of a glass.

She then placed the open end of the glass tightly against her ear for a minute. She said this would ‘create a vacuum’ which could help with the pain.

Earchahes typically only affect one ear, although there were cases where both ears were infected. They’re commonly caused by a blockage in the ear canal, typically due to fluid build-up in response to an infection.

Additionally, the heat can help relax the muscles in the ear. This promotes better blood flow and eases the feeling of tightness.

Many of Dr Dori’s followers were impressed with the trick, thanking her for sharing an easy home remedy for the common ailment.

‘It worked for my 5-year-old,’ someone commented.

‘This works! 10/10 [would] recommend,’ another said.

A third person wrote: ‘Thank you. My daughters go through this pain often, and I won’t know what to do they won’t let me do anything. Definitely will try this.’

‘Thank you, this provided instant relief for my kindergartener!’ A fourth social media user stated.

However, others claimed that this technique did not work at all.

‘I'm in so much pain. I tried this it didn't work,’ one of Dr Dori’s followers said.

‘Not a good idea at all. I learned the hard way,’ shared another.

I am definitely going to be researching further for problems with ears. There is another that I am going to try and that is 4 - 6 garlic cloves in olive oil in a glass jar on the window sill for 4 weeks - 6 weeks. Give the jar a good shake every day. Strain oil. Use the ear dropper and put 3 drops of garlic into sore ear. Garlic is antiflammatory , with thè oil this will help fight infection.
