Partners in crime? Sticky Fingers frontman and partner accused of supermarket theft

Celebrities—including musicians and singers—cannot escape the public eye.

In a twist akin to a tabloid headline, the frontman of a famous Australian band found himself in hot water over allegations of petty theft.

This is more than a case of celebrity mishap; it's a story that has left fans and the public scratching their heads in disbelief.

Sticky Fingers vocalist Dylan Frost has been accused of stealing from a Woolworths Metro in Haymarket, Sydney.

The incident, which was a far cry from Frost's rock 'n' roll lifestyle, involved the alleged theft of a half roast chicken, priced at $6.50, and an Ice Break Double Espresso, which cost $2.65.

The 34-year-old Frost pleaded not guilty to one count of larceny.

Yet, the case already made its way through the Downing Centre Local Court.

In addition to Frost's predicament, his pregnant girlfriend, 23-year-old Elyssa Ford, has also been charged with theft.

She allegedly stole a packet of Life Savers Raspberry Stix from the same Woolworths store.

According to the court registrar, the couple was absent during their mention and sent separate submissions explaining their non-attendance.

Ford, who is dealing with pregnancy and other health-related issues, spends time between New South Wales and Queensland.

The registrar also adjourned Frost's case to a later date so evidence documents could be shown.

They also gave Ford two weeks to notify the court of her plea if she cannot attend.

This is not the first time Frost and Sticky Fingers have been the centre of controversy.

The band, despite achieving significant success in the music scene, faced its share of challenges.

Frost has been accused of abusive and threatening behaviour.

These allegations led the annual music festival Bluesfest to remove the band from their 2023 lineup.

The allegations against Frost also included a 2016 incident where he threatened another Aussie singer, Thelma Plum, and her boyfriend at a Sydney pub.

In the same year, he was accused of making racist comments at a show, which he publicly denied.

Frost has since issued a statement condemning racism and apologised for his past behaviour that intimidated or made people feel unsafe.

This story serves as a reminder that fame and success do not shield one from the consequences of their actions.

It also highlights the complexities of public figures and their struggles, which can sometimes spill over into their public lives in unfortunate ways.
