One 'muck-up day'* at my high school the headmaster's mini was lifted onto the roof of the school hall.

That was about 12 meters (39 ft). Don't ask me how, I wasn't involved.

* Year 12 last day of school.

As teenagers back in the UK in the early 1970's we bounce moved a Mini Minor car over, so we could get a car park in Trafford Park to go and watch Manchester United play Stoke-On-Trent. Shouting "Come on you Reds!"
I was reading your comment out to my husband & apparently when he was in high school he & a group of his mates bounced a teachers brand new mini up the school steps & parked it in the doorway. I’m always telling him, that along with his three brothers, he was a vandal. I owned a mini many years ago so hate to see them mistreated.

My mum loved her green mini minor 💖

Taken on 2 July 2024 at The Good Grocers, Applecross, Perth. Somebody should have tipped this boat anchor on its side!

Instead of condemning the driver who has tried to NOT OBSTRUCT the driveway, we ask why in this day of Fuel economy the CAR Manufacturers are make these monsters. Or have we become so Americanised that it is just accepted as the norm to have these "Trucks" instead of the practical oul Australian Ute.

It's an example of "small man's syndrome". Overcompensating for a deficiency in other departments, usually physical in nature.

So,Veggie patch how would you suggests that trades men and women carry their tools& supplies if there is no longer a vehicle similar in size to a standard car. After all look at other cars on the roads most of the modern version is significantly larger than the original i.e. the Mini - old & new, but our roads and car parks have not been reconfigured to accommodate these progressions. Is it poor /lack of planning on the part of the Councils and private companies, or the fault of someone trying to make the best of a not ideal situation.

How many large Ram, Chevrolet Silverado and Ford Ranger behemoths are actually used as trade vehicles? Not as many as you think.

Most of them have completely empty trays as shown in my posted photo. Just overflowing with toolboxes, ladders, etc. Sure thing!
