I grew up overseas, and we used a lot of the expressions mentioned here in a different language. Kids everywhere...?This is a true story.
My wife and I were on the back decking and our daughter came to sit with us.
My daughter came up with an idea that she wanted to try something, she told us.
I had said, naah you're not doing that and told her why. I asked her Any Obs???
My wife cracked up laughing. She had saiund she hadn't heard that expression for like 45 years.
She recalls having used it in High School days around the same time as my High School days.
Our High Schools were like 25k's away from each other.
My daughter was like, what's so funny and what is Any Obs.
Any Obs, I said to my daughter, meant Any Objections????.
We all knew what it meant back in the day but it was a new one to our daughter.
I can still see my dearly departed chuckling over that one![]()
