This is a recipe that is from my childhood which my grandmother would make. I love it and only a couple of my kids do. I will make these when either my mother visits or my aunt . They love it and reminds them of their childhood
Ingredients
Batter
1/2 cup of plain flour
1 tablespoon of melted butter or oil
225 mls of water
2 egg whites
3 to 4 granny Smith apples
Oil for frying ( I use vegetable oil)
Method
Batter
1. Sift flour into a bowl, make well in the middle and pour in the melted butter or oil

Whisk thoroughly to make a smooth batter. Set aside for 30 minutes
3. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Then gently fold into the batter just before cooking
