Old 50-Cent Coin

Ah, the old round 50-cent coin! In 1966, the round 50c coin was bigger, heavier, and made of 80% silver. They didn’t last long because the silver content made them too valuable. Today, it could be worth over $8 or higher! Do you still have one tucked away in a drawer? Tell us your coin stories below!

My Dad had a wooden box full of these round 50cent pieces. When I was a kid I used to play with them, make towers, shapes then knock them down. I loved the sounds they made.😊🌈

My Mum gave each of us one of these coins when they were changed and told us to put them away as one day they would be worth something. I still have mine in a special place.
