Ah, the old round 50-cent coin! In 1966, the round 50c coin was bigger, heavier, and made of 80% silver. They didn’t last long because the silver content made them too valuable. My Dad had a wooden box full of these round 50cent pieces. When I was a kid I used to play with them, make towers,shapes then knock them down. I loved the sounds they made.

My Mum gave each of us one of these coins when they were changed and told us to put them away as one day they would be worth something. I still have mine in a special place.
