I believe it could very well be true.
Not sure if they still have it in late model fords SUVs but apparently you could set up cruise control and the lane recognition in the car.
Heard of a lady that bought one and had lane control activated. There was a cyclist in her lane and she was trying to go around but the car wouldn't let her. The steering wheel wouldn't let het go around and she panicked and jumped on the brakes, nearly hitting the cyclist.
Just by putting the foot on the brake would release cruise control as well as lane control.
