New Year, New Millionaire! One of the winners from the Gold Lotto draw shared her unbelievable Lotto luck

Life moves in mysterious ways, wouldn’t you agree, members?

2023 is off to an amazing start for one lucky Aussie woman, who’s kicking off the year as a millionaire after winning last Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw.

It's a tale that could make anyone turn green with envy. One Aussie woman is starting off the new year as a millionaire, after her incredible lotto win of over $3.3 million. Twelve people in total won a division one prize on December 31, 2022. The winning numbers were: 11, 23, 35, 42, 20, and 45. The supplementary numbers were 8 and 38.

Four winners bought their tickets from Queensland, another four were from Victoria, three bought their winning tickets in NSW, and one was from Western Australia.

The woman, while confirming her with an official from The Lott, revealed that her ticket was funded by the winnings from an Instant Scratch-It ticket, making her story even more remarkable!

‘It’s funny because we bought some Instant Scratch-Its tickets and I won about $50 on those. I bought this Lotto ticket using those winnings,’ she shared.

The unnamed winner added that it was a ‘spur-of-the-moment’ decision to buy her ticket because she had the cash readily available. Then, when the lottery numbers were revealed, she admitted to reporters that she almost had a panic attack and was in ‘disbelief’.

‘I couldn’t breathe!’ She spoke.

When asked what she planned to do with her prize money, she revealed how she wanted to use it to help her family and buy a new home. ‘Maybe go on a holiday! There are a few things on the list,’ she added.

The winner bought her ticket at Nextra Orion on Main Street in Springfield. If you recall our previous article about the Gold Lotto draw, one of the missing winners bought their ticket at Nextra Orion. If our theory is correct, then we’re glad she was able to claim her prize!

Vivek Ganesh, the store owner where the woman bought her ticket, explained how selling another division one ticket from his shop created a great ice breaker for customers. He added that everyone was happy for the winner.

‘During the past nine years, we’ve sold four top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its tickets, and this is our third division one-winning Gold Lotto entry,’ the store owner stated and said it felt ‘great’ to have another one win from his store.

‘Everyone at Nextra Orion wishes our latest big winner all the best and a happy New Year!’
Key Takeaways

  • An Aussie woman from Springfield, Queensland just started the New Year with a huge lotto win, scoring over $3.3 million.
  • Her winning lottery ticket was purchased using money from a recent Instant Scratch-It win of about $50.
  • She said she wants to use the winnings to help her family, buy a house, and hopefully, go on a holiday.
  • The lucky ticket was purchased at Nextra Orion, on Main Street in Springfield, a store that has since sold three division one-winning Gold Lotto entries in the past nine years.
All we can say is that the odds of winning the lottery are slim, but never zero. Have you ever experienced an ‘easy money’ win, members? Maybe from a raffle draw or a contest? We’d love to hear your stories so share them in the comments!

I had notification just before Christmas that I had won a $100 voucher from SDC, I was bowled over. That win prompted me to decide to treat myself, so I have ordered a box set of cd's of Ball and Boe from the UK. I'm eagerly awaiting the delivery. I will put them in the car and sing along as I travel around! :)

I don't have too many vices. Buying lotto tickets is one of them but I know that the odds are quite low for winning. I can't not buy them though. I always say I am feathering someone else's nest. But maybe one day. I live in hope.

I am sincerely happy for those who win, and I think they are very lucky. But I never win the lottery, but maybe someday I will get lucky. I usually win at gambling, when the game depends on my mental and analytical abilities. That is why I decided to start gambling in casinos.

Wow, what an incredible story! It shows that sometimes a little luck can lead to big things. I'm so happy for the woman who won the Gold Lotto draw and even more impressed that her ticket was funded by her winnings from an Instant Scratch-It access.
