Your time WILL come - not maybe, but WILL - one day soon. When you get caught, please let us know on this site so we can berate you for being foolish too.

So don’t be so rude and judgemental of others, because most try to get one jump ahead of the scammers but that is not easy for the elderly and others who have had little to do with a computer, mobile phone or technology in the past in general. Technology is advancing so very fast that even those who have some knowledge are finding it very hard to keep up - with the scammers. Sometimes too much knowledge can be a bad thing.
I very nearly fell for that email. I like to think I'm very computer savvy and can usually spot any fakes. However this one was supposedly from Telstra and I had recently been speaking to someone who worked there and discussed that they were going to upgrade some of the older email systems. Not by sending an email like that but it is still easy to be scammed even if you're careful.

I get suspicious email every day.

My latest is my icloud is full and if I don't update my payment details I will lose all my photos. I don't have icloud.

Another one is someone used my Disney + account in Stanmore. If it wasn't me lig in and change my password. I don't have Disney +
I get that spam iCloud email a lot.

Another spam email I get nearly everyday (sometimes twice a day), is from McAfee. Those ones are laughable, they’re so obvious.

There are so many spam emails and messages now. Nearly all of my bills are paid by direct deposit. I’d rather err on the side of caution and delete a genuine email than open a fake. If it’s genuine, I can easily check.

I'm a new member here and wish I'd joined sooner because I fell for this scam yesterday!! After multiple failed tries to login, it then hit me that it was probably a scamr!! So yes Bruce C, I fell for it, maybe because it was my husband's PC, or I was in a hurry and not thinking, that it didn't occur to me it was a spam until I'd tried to do the login multiple times. If that means I'm a fool then sobeit. I've rarely been scammed (very lucky) but it does happen, so Bruce C good luck in not ever falling for a scam. Cheers

If I get any email from Telstra, it is a porky.

If you think I owe you money, you can whistle dixie, double four time.

I have not had dealings with Telstra since May 2007.
I got rid of my landline years ago also on my mobile .

Monday night I got a text advising that someone was trying to get my bank details , saying do this - that don’t hang up ,i don’t do anything banking on by phone always in person . My s-in-law wiped it off. ,so how the F do they get your info? I am with Optus. With iCloud I am fed up with their emails some days up to 9- 11 in a short period and Mc fee? A while back I was annoyed 😠 with iCloud I emailed them and told them to F off ,slowed for awhile, now I’m sure their finger stuck on the send button. I know big mistake sending email , I was so sick of them . We need laws to block these A/Hs.

I get regular emails from iCloud "vendors", saying my storage will be cancelled.

The strange thing is that I have NEVER had an iCloud account.

Don’t take any notice of what @BruceC says. He loves calling people “fools” or “stupid” or worse.
He finds fault in everyone unless they happen to agree with him. Many of us on SDC have been on the receiving end of his name calling. 😀
Welcome to SDC. Most of us are nice. 😊

Third party sharing of personal information.

If you have a Google, Microsoft, Apple account, etc, you will subject to such dubious practices.

As I always say, check the sender's e-mail address and never click on links.

Same.
There always ‘must’ be one that bucks the system, so to speak, and thinks he knows everything and is always right. It’s a shame that so many are being scammed but thank you to those that warn us with what they receive because that keeps us safe; perhaps one particular person has been lucky up to now - his time will come!! No one, NOT ONE OF US, in this world, is perfect and not one of us can say we have never been duped out of a dollar or perhaps thousands of dollars or any property.
I have been short changed a few times , they just dump the change in your hand , not count it out like they used , although lately one in WW supermarket does.

I received this, as I am a Gold Member with Telstra I did my usual and messaged them. It was about 10pm, the telstra member checked and told me it was real. Luckily I had wasted so much time during the day and finally went back to it and clicked on it Telstra had put a stop on it and I couldn’t get thru. I rang Telstra and reported their member who told me it was real. They said they would get straight onto the person. Hopefully he got the sack. They could read his messages so knew I was speaking the truth.
