Hello! I'm Lesley, new member from the Sunshine Coast....I am in having a sad week, as we lost our family pet, a cat named Cassie aged 16 yrs and 5 mths on Tues. It will take alot of time to get used to not having her around. I have 2 sons and a daughter 33, 29 and 27 yrs. My husband is retired. I volunteer in an op shop and work as a casual in Outside School Care. I enjoy walking, reading, movies, family tree research....a convict or 2 in the mix! Movies and have a great passion for music and love travelling...fave place is Tassie! Thanks for having me onboard

Oh nooooo! I'm SO sorry, @Cateyes. I have a lovely fur baby myself and would be absolutely heartbroken if I lost him. I'm thinking of you, and giving you a virtual hug! If you need a cat mum to talk to, I'm here! Welcome to the forum too! We're glad to have you as a part of it. :)

Hey Sethia, thank you for your msg. Yes, very hard not having our special friend Cassie to greet us anymore, but we knew the time was coming. Cassie went off to sleep peacefully in her cat cave, so that was a blessing at least. Having a pet for 16 and half yrs is a very long time. They are part of the family. Cass started to slowly go downhill 2 wks ago. Sadly she was diaginosed with hyperthyroid condtiom 3 yrs ago and on meds. She was a fighter tho and kept bouncing back! She had her funny little things she enjoyed.. loved rain, towels ( damp) vegemite, and my hubby gave her a tiny piece of bacon at breakfast. She loved sleeping in cupboards, but lately sge spent her final weeks/days on our balcony on the sun lounge or towels. We have buried her in the yard and my husband made a cross and placed 4 torch solar lights around her resting place. Lots of joy the last 16 and half yrs! Thanks for the welcome again...stumbled upon the seniors club accidentally last night!
