New Coles checkouts
For the last 20 years, I’ve shopped at Coles in Leichhardt. Friendly staff, they scanned the items and packed the bag and had time for a chat.
This same Coles now assumes I’m a shoplifter, along with everybody else, has a need to video everybody (how long do they keep it is unknown) and herd us like cattle into the checkouts where we scan and pack our own bags, pay and hope the gates open.
The checkout staff now have walkie talkies to communicate with senior staff in case of a riot.
I’m assuming that Coles senior management have an increased financial target as part of their conditions of employment, the recent $1.1 billion from last year is evidently not enough.
Sorry Coles you’ve lost the plot and customer service has gone down the plug hole.
I’m off to Woolworths and Aldi
