A new gadget has sparked a debate among social media users after a number of people questioned its necessity.
Can you see what the fuss is all about?
The "Laundry Jet" — an electrically-powered laundry chute that allows users to directly deposit their dirty laundry wherever they are in the house to their laundry room — is currently making the rounds on the internet, thanks to users who have been sharing their rave reviews of the gadget.
"This is the best purchase I have ever made," wrote TikTok user Brianna Toledo who shared a video showing how the product sucks up the unclean clothes that she deposited to the gadget.

The product was said to work with multi and single-story homes as you can install it anywhere in the house and it will transport your used clothes directly to your laundry room no matter where it is located.
The Laundry Jet also comes with three ports with an option to increase them to eight.

Other customers shared their thoughts on the gadget, labelling it "convenient" and "extremely helpful".
One person wrote: "I have this and the Laundry Jet can send clothing upwards as well."
"You barely notice the one I have in my room, it fits in so seamlessly," another customer quipped.
A third chimed in: "It's very hard for me to carry baskets of laundry up and down multiple flights of stairs."
"This has done wonders for my back."

However, not everyone seemed to be as excited for the gadget, and a number of users questioned its necessity.
One comment read: "This is a solution looking for a problem. Why not just walk two doors down to the laundry room?"
"This is too much effort, doesn't seem worth it," another argued.
A third added: "Looks useless to me. You still have to load the clothes in the washer unless you line them up perfectly. Waste of money!"
Personally, we at the SDC think the gadget would be ideal for those who have mobility issues and/or require extra care and assistance. Since the gadget can be installed anywhere in the home, it makes a lot of sense to install it on the floors or parts of the house that are easily accessible. Having said all that, we were unable to find a price listed for the product… Never a good sign!
