Need to claim for an injury on your insurance?

I have noticed recently that the FB algorithms have sent many posts my way regarding companies that offer "no win no fee" assistance in claiming for injury , as I have just done this myself.
These companies will claim incredible amounts that they have "won" for their clients....... At a cost of course to the claimant.
Firstly what these companies are actually doing is filling out paperwork on your behalf for either your income protection and/or you total permanent disability insurance that you should have within your Superannuation.
The amount that you can claim will depend on how much you are insured for and if you are looking at "Total Permanent Disability" insurance keep in mind that whilst your premiums don't decrease your payout figures does once you hit 60.
I read recently where a customer, who was happy with their results, paid one of these companies $10,000 for each claim so costing him $20,000 in total.
In my case in involved solicitors, as I had other issues going on and needed some legal advice. These solicitors took it upon themselves to try and start making these claims on my super insurance (I had already started this myself). Before they could start I needed to sign forms saying I give them the right to do so at the tiny cost of $13500 for each claim, do a total cost of $27,000 !
As I said, I had already started this process by claiming my income protection insurance. The insurance company with my super, which is separate to your super company, was incredibly helpful and they lady I dealt told me I should also claim the TPD (title permanent disability) as well and that I could do at the same time and she would send me the forms via email
I decided to wait for claiming TPD until my income protection was finalised.
My income protection was approved. An important note here is that if you have gone off on workers compensation, as I had, you will not get any income protection payments until after your workers compensation payments have ceased, AND, there is also a time limit as to how long you will be paid this income protection.
I then claimed the TPD and I had this approved as well. In total saving myself $27,000 in the process by doing it myself.
I found the process very straight forward and relative easy to do. You just need to ensure you answer all questions honestly and provide all relevant medical information in a timely manner. I found the forms easy to understand, and I certainly did NOT need legal assistance nor the cost that goes with that. I possibly would've used one of these companies if my claims had been knocked back but I certainly would have shipped around first.

Please keep in mind this is my experience with my super company and their insurance company, other companies maybe a little different, but at least ask some questions first.
I would like to think the process I went through is a standard example how it is done.
Just remember all these "no win no fees" companies are only doing what I, myself, had done and that is fill out straight forward paperwork.
