When we lived in South Africa my step father was a rep for a record company in the early '60s. There was a rumour going around that Elvis' manager took a bet that he could make a "star" out of a not-so-good unknown singer. The end result was Elvis.
Fortunately I was born in 1953 so was a Beatles and Rolling Stones fan. Now I love classics. Like a good wine, I've mellowed with age.

Yes, "TOM" made a 'Killing" out of "Pelvis". The way he ripped poor Elvy off, I bet he made more than "E the P" did. The cigars that Tom puffed away on were pretty big as well.
