It can't be denied that "hacks" have been flooding the internet as of late, but this doesn't mean that they're all fake.
In fact, some of the best hacks out there are actually true!
We previously shared a popular hack that has been taking the internet by storm, where it was claimed that soaking avocados in a jar of water and placing it in your fridge can keep the fruit fresh for up to two weeks.

It is not surprising that a number of people are curious if this hack actually works.
So, to put the tip to test, a number of mums tried it for themselves and here are their honest thoughts…
A group of mums have shared their opinions on the "avocado hack" on a popular parenting Facebook page after it went viral online.
According to the hack, all you need to do to keep your avocados — and other similar water-heavy vegetables like carrots and bok choy — fresh for longer is to fill up a large jar of jug with water and place the fruit inside as is.
It was said that the method allows the fruit to continuously stay hydrated and ripe, making it stay fresh and delicious when you're ready to eat it.
And the mums' verdict? The hack actually works!
One mum has shared her "successful" experiment, describing that trick as "game-changing".
"Did you already know this? Avocados stay good for-freaking-ever if you put them in water in the fridge. They're perfect. I'm speechless," she wrote along with the photos of the ripe avocados.

The post has captured the attention of thousands of Facebook users, with many expressing their excitement over the hack.
One comment read: "Wow! I will be trying this as soon as I get home."
Another mum revealed that the trick also works for avocados that have already been sliced in halves.
Savvy mum Stephanie Kelley took to Instagram to demonstrate the simple process where she pointed out that you don't need to do any extra steps if you're going to use the trick to halved avocados.
Also joining the hype is Sydney-based nutritionist Rebecca Gawthorne who suggested three additional tips on keeping your avocados fresh.

- Squeeze lemon juice over the cut avocado & rub into the flesh
- Coat the flesh of the avocado with olive oil
- Store your cut avocado with 1/2 a red onion.
The nutritionist explains: “The browning of an avocado is a natural chemical reaction called oxidisation that occurs when a cut avocado is exposed to oxygen in the air.”
“While it's safe eat, brown avocados are not very aesthetically pleasing and can taste a bit bitter.”
