Mum's creative Kmart toy transformation will have you nostalgic for your childhood!

When we were younger, one of our earliest childhood dreams was to open our very own shop and act as if we were the proud owners of one of the most successful businesses in the neighbourhood.

Our friends and family members would act as customers, handing over fake cash in exchange for toys, and we would happily oblige. Those were good times!

That is why a mum has decided that for her son's second birthday, she wanted her children to experience the same thrill and joy of pretending to be shop owners for the day.

So, she came up with a creative Kmart hack that transformed a generic toy into a fun and unique play set that her kids thoroughly loved and enjoyed. Here's how she did it!

On a popular Facebook group for Kmart mums, Amber-Lee White said she initially only planned to make one stall for her son, but her other kids loved it so much she decided to make two more—one for each of them!

'This was one of my favourite Kmart hacks,' she wrote in her post on social media.

For the first step, Amber-Lee used the foundation of the 30-piece wooden market stall set she found at Kmart and customised it for each of her children. Then, she covered the top bench and shelves with self-adhesive book covers from the retail store before adding handmade signs for each booth.

To complete the fresh, modern feel of the market stall, it appears that Amber-Lee has painted the wooden boxes that came with the set white.

Adding the finishing touches of fairy lights, a colourful ceiling, and a personalised menu for each of her children, the finished pieces looked great and, of course, were a major hit with the rest of the young attendees at the birthday celebration!

The mum was lauded on the Facebook group for her brilliant idea, with several members expressing an interest in doing it with their own children's birthday parties.

'Oh, I love this!!! How beautiful,' wrote one mum in the comments section. A second parent joined the conversation and said, 'Oh my gosh! This is amazing! Well done to you!'

'Tilda might like these for Christmas, maybe,' another mum commented on the post and tagged a friend.

So, what do you all think? Is this Kmart hack something you'd like to try out for yourself? This looks like a fun weekend DIY project to do with your grandchildren, and we know they'll love it just as much as we do! If you decide to give this a try, let us know in the comments.

How clever and what kids don't like playing shops
I will definitely pass this one onto my daughter, she loves things like this.

Let's hope some online influencer doesn't say this is wrong as it's teaching kids to shop 😉

Sorry I just read so many articles on how this is wrong for kids and that is wrong and I thought geez do they want to take away all kids fun.

This article I loved and definitely one kids will love ❤

When I was little me and my best friend would build a shop with a couple of planks then spend all day making lots of mud biscuits. We never actually got to the selling part.
Playing shops was my favourite game.

All kids love to play shopping even without the fancy stalls When I. Visit y great grandkids they love to play restaurants and cook me a meal and coffee in their little kitchen with a kids stove pots and pans and wooden food

Very clever indeed. I don't have children & only one teenage granddaughter. The others are older grandsons.
