Here, There and Everywhere?
Merchant Ship

The First Mate on a merchant ship was intrigued by the routine of his
Captain just before leaving harbour. The Captain would go to the
charthouse, make sure nobody was looking, unlock a drawer, take out a piece
of paper which he perused for several minutes, lock the paper back in the
drawer and go to the bridge.
This happened every time when they went to sea and the Mate's curiosity
grew.
One day the Captain was taken ill and the Mate had to take command as the
ship left port. Carefully he went to the charthouse
took the Captain's keys, opened the locked drawer and excitedly read the
paper ... It read "Port is left. Starboard is right".
