Have you ever found yourself craving something sweet and indulgent but couldn’t pinpoint what you wanted?
Maybe it's the end of a long day, or you just finished a big meal, but that urge for a sweet treat is strong. If you're anything like us, McDonald's soft serve is often a go-to choice in these moments.
Something about the creamy, smooth texture and sweet vanilla flavour just hits the spot. Whether you're sitting in the drive-thru or standing in line at the counter, the anticipation builds as you wait for that cone or cup to be handed to you.
And when you finally take that first delicious bite, all your worries seem to fade away, at least for a moment.
Speaking of Macca’s desserts, the fast food giant has recently announced the comeback of a much-loved sweet treat that has been off the restaurant's menu since 2012 — the Maltesers McFlurry!
Since its launch in the early 2010s, the McDonald’s Maltesers McFlurry has been a favourite among Aussie sweet tooths.
This fan-favourite Macca’s dessert blends a mound of delectable soft serve ice cream with the iconic chocolate, Maltesers, and chocolate sauce. It's a match made in heaven.
After being off the menu for more than ten years, the Macca’s Malteser McFlurry is said to be back for a limited time – fulfilling hundreds of customers’ fantasies.
According to McDonald’s Australia’s senior brand manager, Liz Whitbread, sweet treats like these keep the customers coming back.
Ms Whitbread quipped: 'We know how much love there is for our McFlurry collaborations, so we are very excited to launch the Maltesers McFlurry and bring together our iconic soft serve with light and delicious Maltesers.'
'If you’re looking for an afternoon snack or dessert after dinner, the Maltesers McFlurry will satisfy those cravings every time.'
The limited-edition item will be available starting Wednesday, March 22, at all Macca’s restaurants nationwide, through the MyMacca’s app and McDelivery.
McDonald's also recognised the customer demand for the fan-favourite treat and acknowledged adding some variety to the menu to meet their customers' requests.
This is not the first time Macca’s addressed demands to bring back an item to its menu.
Last year, Macca’s brought back the ever-popular KitKat McFlurry for a limited time, delighting fans.
While the treat had been a welcome addition to the fast food giant’s menu, some SDC members pointed out that it’s almost impossible to purchase some desserts from Macca’s restaurants.
One member wrote: ‘Every time I try to buy a frappe, the machine is not working. I don’t understand why they don’t buy a new machine.’
Well, let’s just hope McDonald’s fixes their pesky machine problem so everyone can enjoy these treats.
