We all know that life is too short for bad coffee. It's something we can all agree on – whether it's a warm cup first thing in the morning or a little pick-me-up during the day, good coffee is something we all deserve.
Speaking of coffee, McDonald's has recently launched a new coffee called the Birthday Cake Latte, much to the delight of Macca’s fans across Australia. In fact, we wrote about it here.
But is it worth the hype? Let’s take a look at the reviews.
The new coffee concoction, created to celebrate 30 years of McCafé, is said to be made from Aussie coffee combined with ‘delicious cake flavours’.
The idea of combining coffee and cake certainly got everyone’s attention, and some people wanted to investigate if the new Birthday Cake Latte is worth trying.
One reviewer described their disappointment with the new drink, saying, ‘It tasted like a regular latte with too much sugar. Like drinking a caramel latte but without the caramel’.
The reviewer even claimed they were heartbroken that the flavour missed the mark, especially since they had high hopes for the coffee and cake combination.
Given that everyone has different taste preferences, the original reviewer decided to conduct a little experiment with their co-workers to see if others shared the same opinion.
They poured a standard McDonald's coffee and a Birthday Cake Latte for their co-workers and asked them to identify any differences between the two.
While all three participants were able to identify the Birthday Cake Latte, they all agreed that it didn't taste like birthday cake.
