Massive trick Aussies are using to slash their grocery bills—one supermarket spills!

As the cost of living continues to rise, Australians are getting creative with grocery shopping, seeking savvy ways to stretch their dollars further.

One of the most significant trends emerging from this financial crunch is the increasing reliance on the freezer aisle, and one supermarket has just revealed how this shift is helping Aussies save big on their food expenses.

Once overlooked by those who preferred fresh produce, the freezer section has become a treasure trove for budget-conscious shoppers.

ALDI's recent data indicated that 66 per cent of Australians are now turning to frozen goods to control their festive season spending.

This is a telling sign of the times as households across the country grapple with tightening their belts without sacrificing the joy of holiday feasts.

In response to this trend, ALDI has strategically doubled its freezer range for Christmas, offering a variety of frozen delights that promise to reduce both the cost and time spent in the kitchen.

The supermarket giant has crafted a tantalising three-course menu with three sides and a bottle of wine, all for under $62 for a family of six.

This is a game-changer for those hosting Christmas lunch, especially considering the average cost per person has risen to $62, a $7 increase from the previous year.

The expanded frozen selection includes luxurious items such as specially selected premium extra-large scallops wrapped in maple-flavoured bacon and a one-kilogram Christmas favourite, Australian turkey breast roast.

These offerings are cost-effective and time-saving. ALDI's shopping expert, Kylie Warnke, noted:

‘Christmas should be all about enjoying the company of your loved ones and having time to make memories and share good food,’

‘Our research shows Aussies spend, on average, four hours preparing food for Christmas Day.’

‘At ALDI, we’re hoping to make the day feel lighter on prep with our biggest ever frozen range, so there’s something for everyone.’

The return of the famous Specially Selected Premium Lobster Tails with Garlic Butter Glaze, priced from $34.99, is just the beginning.

The range also includes new additions like the Specially Selected Lobster Thermidor Style Croquettes for $6.99 and the Specially Selected Split Rock Lobster in garlic and herb sauce or French style sauce for $29.99.

ALDI has introduced 13 new products to their festive range, allowing shoppers to indulge a little extra without the financial strain.

Other notable items include Christmas Favourites Prawn Balls for $3.99, Specially Selected Mature Cheese and Onion Croquettes 260g for $6.99, and a two-pack of Specially Selected Scallop & Champagne Gratin 300g for $9.99.

This strategic move by ALDI is about more than offering affordable options; it's about understanding its customers' evolving needs.
