Macca’s worker receives backlash after sharing large fries ‘trick’: “Not all McDonald's employees are lazy”

Aside from their ice cream machines, which always seem to be broken, another one of the biggest issues with ordering McDonald’s is their inconsistent servings of large chips!
We’re sure we’re not the only ones who experienced ordering a large chips, only to get home and find out that they only seem to have filled them up halfway. Pretty disappointing when you’re forking out extra for a larger meal.
But recently, one Macca’s employee has gone viral online for sharing the secret behind the fast-food store’s large fries.
And after finding out, many customers were left furious.

In the video, the employee can be seen scooping some chips into a large container. However, she didn’t open the container all the way to the bottom, meaning there was less room for the chips to go in.
“How we make our large fries,” she wrote in the video and added: “Don’t open the cardboard all the way, saves you more fries for others” along with a winking emoji.
However, the TikTok user’s ‘tip’ backfired when several McDonald’s customers, and even fellow employees, commented on the video and accused the worker of “robbing customers”.
“It’s nice to know that we’re intentionally getting ripped off,” said one customer. “We pay for a large fry because we want a large fry, not because we like the bigger box.”
Another added: “So you get charged for a large but you don’t really get a large. Nice ripping off your customers. Why not just say you can’t order large fries?”
One employee defended Macca’s and said that not all locations do this. “That’s probably just a location thing. I’ve worked at like 5 locations and I’m always told to open it and pack it,” they said.
Another agreed and added: “If we didn’t fill them right, the manager would dump it back out and fill it right.”
Another employee slammed the TikTok user for setting a bad example: “Not all McDonald's are lazy, you guys are giving all us other hard workers a bad name!”
Sounds like Mctrouble in paradise.
Turned off the idea of McDonald's chips? Why not make your own?
Here, we’re sharing with you a video on how to make amazing homemade fries that are not only all there (thanks Maccas) but also much healthier. Win win eh?
