Little girl’s heartwarming reaction to her new ‘mum’ – ‘Purest thing I’ve seen!’

We here at the SDC love nothing more than a wholesome, tear-jerking story – and this one definitely fits the bill.

Recently, a mum, Genevieve, made headlines when she shared an adorable video of her daughter on TikTok.

The footage, which has now been viewed over 3.5 million times, shows the little girl singing in her class concert. But instead of singing along with her classmates, she points at her mum and smiles, cheerfully saying: 'My Mummy!'

‘This video was taken shortly after adopting my young girl. Instead of singing, she kept pointing at me saying, “My Mummy”. I’m so grateful that I captured this beautiful moment.’ the mum captioned the clip.

Millions flocked to the comments section and fell in love with the little girl’s reaction.

‘This is love. How many hugs did she get after this?’ asked one.

‘That's the most precious smile in the history of mankind!’ another gushed.

A third added: ‘This might be the purest and most precious thing I've ever seen.’

Several viewers told Genevieve that she was a special person for adopting the little girl, with one saying, ‘As a birth mom, thank you to every woman who adopts and loves these babies so genuinely!’

Another commented: ‘Omg, this brought tears to my eyes. Every baby deserves a loving family. God bless you both.’

‘Look at the way she looks at you!’ One more pointed out.

However, some users weren’t too happy about a controversial detail in the clip. They couldn’t help but notice and criticise the costumes that the children were wearing.

‘Such a sweet child, but the school putting on this show needs a stern talking to.’ a viewer commented, referring to Native American cultural appropriation.

‘It amazes me that there are teachers out there who don’t see why this is an issue.’ another chimed.

‘When I first saw it I was like "Aww what a cute moment with her baby, OH!”.’ a third said.

‘I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who was uncomfortable.’ another commented.

That melted my heart. 💖💖💖

I wonder what happened to her birth mum.

How could anyone not keep her.

Her adopted mum is a lucky lady as well as the little girl .

I'm not even going to comment on the negative comment ...seriously 😠

She melted my heart with her excited exclamation. A beautiful moment.

Forget about what the child was wearing in this video!

The video was highlighting the fact this recently adopted child was referring to this woman as her mummy.

She had been adopted by this woman, & assumably her partner, had never known a mother & was excited to tell people that she was her Mum, not the woman who adopted her. That is real love.

Why are people so bloody stupid, sorry for swearing I get so mad at the woke mentality.
This was a heart warming story ( heaven knows we need much more of them) and it gets ruined by idiots,
How is dressing up culture appropriation. In my opinion it’s a way of understanding other cultures and learning about them. One’s culture or language IS NOT there’s and there’s alone, let’s get things into prospective, by having this mentality people are putting a divide between cultures instead of uniting them.
For instance my nationality is Maltese and Italian, I’m 72 and have lived in Australia for 66 years of my life therefore I consider my self to be Australian as well, is that culture appropriation? If one has a love and appreciation of a different to culture to theirs why is that culture appropriation?
The culture appropriation theory is just a way to segregate cultures and people, and a way to install hate.
So let’s stop this madness embrace all cultures, and be proud of where your origins are from, and proud of the country or culture you’ve adopted.
