Let’s Support Those Affected by the Floods

Hi everyone,

As many of you may know, parts of Australia are currently facing devastating flooding. Tragically, there have already been four reported deaths, and countless individuals and families have lost their homes and have been forced to seek emergency shelter.

In times like these, community matters more than ever. We want to take a moment to say that we are thinking of all our members — and the families and friends of our members — who have been impacted by this crisis. Our hearts go out to you, and we are sending love and strength your way.

To support those affected, we would like to make a meaningful contribution. We’re asking you, our members, to help us choose where our donation goes. Please comment below with the name of a charity you believe is doing important work in response to the floods. The charity that receives the most mentions in the comments will be the recipient of our collective donation.

For every comment suggesting a charity, we will donate $10 — so every comment truly counts. Whether you're directly affected or simply want to help, your voice can make a difference.

Thank you for being part of this community. Let’s stand together in support of those who need it most right now.

With care,
The Seniors Discount Club Team

I don't care which charity as long as they don't take a lot in admin costs. After the last floods I wanted to donate bedding but to my surprise you could only donate new bedding or money for it. If like us people are downsizing and getting rid of good furniture no-one wants and household goods why not offer to the flood victims.

Yes last floods our CWA called out for gumboots. My hubby had been a concreter so had 2 pair in box in shed. They had no clumps of concrete, but grey stains. Big good sturdy boots, but they didn't want them cause of stain. Omg they wanted to walk in mud. I put them on my Facebook page for free and gone in 15 mins.
TERESE, A TERRIBLE SIGN OF THE TIMES WHEN CHARITY ORGANIZATIONS HAVE THE AUDACITY TO PICK & CHOOSE WHAT THEY TAKE, NO F***IN WONDER PEOPLE ARE STEERING AWAY FROM THEM & DON'T GET ME STARTED ON WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING FOR DONATED ITEMS. 😤😡🤬.

R.S.P.C.A. THEY GO TO DISASTER AFFECTED AREAS AND LOOK AFTER THE ANIMALS OF POEPLE WHO HAVE BEEN EVACUATED AND HAVEN TAKEN THEIR ANIMALS WITH THEM.THEY TAKE FOOD AND BEDDING AND EVEN HALTERS AND THINGS FOR HORSES AND ALSO STAY THERE AND LOOK AFTER THEM WHILE THE OWNERS ARE GETTING THE HELP THEY NEED.

I have five big garbage bags full of larger size clothes (size 18 - 24)- all in good order with some still having the price tags on them. It would be nice if these could go to ladies who have lost everything in the floods but I have no method of getting them to NSW. Any suggestions please?
