Legendary rockstar lashes out after becoming target of a scam: ‘This is horrific’

This harsh reality was recently brought to light by Queen's legendary guitarist, Brian May, who shared a deeply personal and distressing experience with his fans.
Brian May has recently been through a series of challenging events. Not only did he suffer a health scare that left him temporarily unable to use one of his arms, but he also became the target of a particularly sinister scam.
The scam, which involved artificial intelligence (AI) technology, exploited May's image and reputation, leaving him and his fans horrified.
The scam came to May's attention when a vigilant Queen fan noticed a video on social media. The video featured what appeared to be Brian May himself, offering backstage tickets to a Queen concert.
‘I hope you’re all well out there,’ said the fake Brian May in the video.
‘Some good news. Backstage tickets for my next show in your cities are now going for only $800, which was previously $2000. I’m only selecting 10 people in the comments, so if you’re ready to make payment, comment, “ready”.’
Upon learning of this scam, Brian May took to social media to express his shock and disgust. ‘This is horrific,' he said.
'I suppose this is now so easy to do—and there are always people who will sink to any depths to try to make a quick buck. Disgusting.'
‘Thanks for the alert dear @stereojazz.3d—I’ve alerted our team, and hopefully, we can squash this.’
The incident sparked a wave of support from fans, many of whom were appalled by the misuse of May's likeness.
‘That they abuse your beautiful personality for this scam hurts even more and is really scary. I hate it,’ one wrote.
‘It is insanely terrifying what AI can do these days,’ another commented.
In addition to dealing with this scam, Brian May has had to navigate the aftermath of a stroke, which he bravely disclosed to his followers.
Despite the severity of the situation, May remained positive, assuring fans that he was still capable of playing guitar and was following medical advice to rest and recover.
He humbly requested that fans refrain from sending messages of sympathy, not wanting to be inundated with emails during his recuperation.
