Late Intro

My name is Luisa. I live in Sydney metro. I have three pets: Lucky, the yellow Labrador, Raffles a Terrier/Russell mix and Tweety an Indian ring-necked parakeet. Just as I love my two sons and four grandsons equally, I love my three pets equally. I can truly say owning a pet is one of the great joys of life. I am an avid reader and enjoy sewing and babysitting.
I would like to wish all the hardworking administrators and members of the club the happiest and safest new year ever until the next one.

Hi Loosie! We've got to see pictures of those lovely animals of yours if you don't mind sharing :)

Hi Xe, sure no problem. Here they are in all their glory!

Oh they are all so adorable!! Tweety is absolutely gorgeous. I've never been much of a bird person myself. Is it difficult having one?

I never thought I was a bird person either until Tweety ended up in our garden with an injured wing 12 years ago. For four weeks we tried to find her owner by advertising and asking around but without success. After caring for her for a month I found I couldn't part with her. In many ways, birds are easier to care for than dogs. For a start, they do not require to be walked twice a day nor taken out for potty time when needed, which is why we installed two flap doors on our back door; although Lucky thinks he's too good for the flap door and instead rings the dangling bell attached to the french door whenever he wants out! However, birds need to be let out of their cages for one or two hours every day and also need bonding time (and training time at first) with their owner. The cages need to be cleaned once a day and their food and water bowls filled once a day. Since having Tweety I now observe and appreciate the wild birds among us much more than I ever did.

That's amazing! It sounds like fate that she ended up in your garden :)
