Land Rover models: Potential fire hazard—check the recall list inside!

In recent developments concerning automotive safety, numerous car models have been subject to recalls due to critical issues that could potentially lead to fire hazards.

These recalls underscore the critical need for swift action to rectify safety concerns within the automotive industry. Ensuring the safety of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians remains paramount.

A critical safety alert has been issued that may concern your vehicle. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Australia has announced a recall of 143 vehicles across several prestigious Land Rover models due to a defect that poses a significant fire risk.

This recall spans the Land Rover Defender, Discovery, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover Velar, specifically those built 2023 and 2024.

‘Due to a manufacturing defect, the oil filter housing may not meet specifications and could crack over time. If this occurs, oil could leak into the engine bay and accumulate in the presence of an ignition source, resulting in a vehicle fire,’ JLR said.

‘A vehicle fire could increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.’

The recall is a precautionary measure to prevent such dire consequences, and it highlights the importance of vehicle maintenance and manufacturer support in ensuring the safety of all.

The list of affected vehicles, identified by their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), has been made available for owners to check if their vehicle is included in this recall.

If your Land Rover is included in this recall, rest assured that JLR is committed to rectifying the issue at no cost.

JLR will contact owners of the affected vehicles directly to arrange an appointment at their nearest dealership.

During this appointment, the oil filter housing, the filter, and associated o-rings will be replaced free of charge, ensuring your vehicle is safe and roadworthy.

For those with questions or concerns about the recall, JLR Australia has provided a dedicated contact number, 1800 625 642, where you can receive further information and assistance.

Similarly, thousands of Skoda cars were recalled urgently due to a potential fault that could result in a fire hazard.

The recall impacts models sold between 2020 and 2024, where the heat shield between the brake master cylinder and exhaust may have been incorrectly fitted. Read further details about this development here.

You ask the question
(Is YOUR car at risk of catching fire? Over a hundred models were recalled!)
As a pensioner to old to have been in a position to take advantage of a government
idea of funding your own retirement with the superannuation scheme as against
paying various taxes including income, and receiving an age pension thereby freeing
up massive amounts of cash to fund their own personal extremely extravagant
pension pots and further wastage on unfunded climatic models of low grade power,
which works as long as the SUN SHINES or the WINDS BLOW.
Unfortunately never mind the shine the Government will always BLOW?

Don't worry. The LNP will offer us too-expensive-to- pay-for nuclear power from 7 nuclear power stations whose costs will overrun to double their guessed-at costs and they will take umpteen plus 20 yeas to build and use up so much concrete and steel that Chinese mining companies will be mining Australia at vast profit to themselves...........Oddly enough, OZ has plenty of sun and wind and if we all (that's a laugh) cut back on wasting electrical power on modern hi-tech junk power gadgets (yes, back to the 1960s) with flexible (i.e bendy) periskovite/silica solar cells on all rooftops and solar hot-water then.........just maybe...........this country will be seen as sensible rather than run by a bunch of blowhard dummies willing to sell their granny for a Rinmembi.

All political parties at the moment are in a headlong race to the BOTTOM.

I Wonder what thousands of turbines and 28,000 kms of power lines need beneath them.

It couldn't be mega tons of concrete (both) and steel (power lines) could it.

And how much of that is going to be sitting in fragile, previously virgin, forest, the sea floor and agricultural land.

Unlike the proposed Nuclear plants which will use existing plant sites and power cables.
