Most of the public has no idea how the system works. How can you trust a judgemental person, who has no clue what they are talking about, to pass judgement on a medical professional, who understands the triage system, can know what it’s like for an elderly lady, who is begging for help from the seniors community, to decide this woman’s fate. Maybe this person, could attend a few pauper’s funerals like I have and be the only person present, who ever cared about a patient. Put your selfish self, in their shoes for a day. Better st, volunteer at a public hospital, and open your eyes.

I am 87 years old and BLIND not vision impaired . I am on level 2 home care package when you would say I was vision impaired. Every 3 weeks I used to have eye injections for macula degeneration ,which we’re doing nothing . I have an pacemaker ,went for checkup with heart specialist . He told me I was wasting my money and their time as the blood was not getting to my eyes and only matter of time I will be blind . Days vary some mornings I get up and can’t even see my face in the mirror ! have been on phone to My home care some days for 2 hours at a time. I paid $5250 for magnifying glass that if I cannot see to read anything it will read it to me . The chap from vision Australia said if I were on a higher level which I shoul be it would have been paid for ,and to ring my home care once a fortnight . My GP has written plus the heart specialist and you have no idea the excuses I get . l was given CHSP number haven’t worked out whom they are,where they are,or what they do . Get 1 and half our cleaning every 2 weeks . CHSP were arranging for me to get cleaning xtra 8 weeks until someone rings and gives me an assessment on the ph. l was given the number of Older Persons Advocasy spoke to lovely caring lady whom is coming to my home and assess what I need and will speak on my behalf . At least he has pushed them in ti a date I will be assessed first week in new year . They wouldn’t tell me that My advice to you is get in touch with Older Persons Advocasy . There is one in each state.

I FEEL FOR YOU. I WILL BE A YEAR IN JANUARY WAITING FOR LEVEL 3. I DO NOT BOTHER WITH THEIR OTHER THINGS. I WISH YOU WELL AND MY BEST FOR A PEACEFUL XMAS.

The government is so irresponsible, I don’t know how they sleep at night. They treat the elderly, like a thorn in their side. I know the system, and it stinks. They try to make it hard to get help, hoping that you’ll just give up. Most do. The NDIS is useless too. It’s broke. The government spends more on the NDIS annually, than the whole of Medicare for Australia. It’s a disgrace. The problem is, the NDIS was established with the best of intentions. Now, so many people are scamming the system, the taxpayers are paying for corruption in the system. It’s a disaster. Who is going to help this poor lady? I wish I could hold her hand, and be there for her. If she doesn’t have close family support, she is a goner. Sadly, the “lucky country “, isn’t so lucky. I wish this poor lady all the best. I hope that someone can fight for her. I get really upset, when I hear how some of the elderly are treated. It’s heartbreaking .

it is abused by the human race. honesty is how things work but alas we have thieving mongrels, stop blaming scomo, blame the greedy human race. by the way, your comment is very politically motivated.

Obviously everyone expects everything. The Government does not spend their own money. Nothing is free. Our children and grandchildren will inherit huge government debt and have to pay the taxes to pay them. No wonder Albo is bringing more taxpayers into the country - which will bring its own problems with accessing anything like hospitals and doctors. If you live in a large home sell and make sure you take care to get the best possible help. There are leisure villages where you pay a fair cost and lease the land, allowing you to free up cash so you are not beholding to those that hold the purse strings
